History
We have been competing together since the mid eighties. Our first events together were in Northern University Motor Club road rallies for Sheffield Students Motor Club. These events were tackled in a variety of near standard Mini 1000's and an Escort 1300 MkII.

Next came 5 years of competing in NatWest Bank Motor Club's road rally championship in the Thames Valley. Having won the novice championship we moved up into the expert category. All sorts of road cars were used, including an Escort 1600 Sport, Fiat X1/9, Golf GTi MkI, Astra SR, Nova GTE, 205 Rallye and a Carlos Sainz Toyota Celica 4wd turbo! We often finished in the top 3, occasionally taking 1st place. |
An un-prepared Opel Manta GT/E was purchased in 1996 with a view to moving up to stage rallying. It was built throughout 1996/7 and during this time was used to compete in several road rallies and a few sprints. Once completed, we entered Bath Motor Club's stage rally at Colerne Airfield in July 1997. One other rally was entered that year. Both events were completed with good improvements over our seeded start position, despite losing 1st and 2nd gear on the second event at Longcross.
In 1998 we tackled the CMSG Stage Rally Championship. Every one of the 4 events entered were completed with no major technical problems. We were very disappointed not to have secured an entry to the Colerne Stages in July, feeling this hampered our chances of a better championship result. Overall in the 1998 championship, Adrian finished 7th and Martin 6th in class C (1601cc to 2000cc).
| Late in 2000, Martin purchased a Nissan Sunny GTi rally car.
It is the ex-Stephen Henty car that had won the group N3
BTRDA championship that year. Martin competed in one event in 2000, the West Essex Car Club Whethersfield Stages at New Year on snow and ice. That all important 'safe' finish in 39th place was secured from a start position of 78. |

Adrian spent 99 and 2000 competing in local sprints using a road going Impreza. This has been to 'keep my hand in' while other events - moving house and getting married - have taken priority over rallying.
Due to foot and mouth, and preparing the new car, 2001 was a pretty quiet year. The team tackled one stage rally at Longcross in the Sunny and one sprint at Castle Combe in the 205.
More recent events can be seen in our Activities section.
